Dividend Tracker Privacy Policy
Summary
- You don't need an account. Your holdings, transactions and settings are stored only on your phone.
- To show prices and dividends, the app sends stock tickers and search words to Yahoo Finance. It never sends your holdings, share counts or amounts.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects device data such as the advertising ID. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first.
- We don't sell your data, and we (the developer) don't receive any of it.
What stays on your phone
Everything you enter: portfolios and their tax rates, buy and sell transactions, dividends you record, your watchlist, your income goal, exchange rates you set, and app settings such as currency and theme. It is kept in the app's private storage and is not sent to us or anyone else.
If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include this app's data in your device backup, which Google stores under your control. You can turn backup off in your phone's settings.
CSV files you import or export are read from, or written to, the place you choose. The app does not upload them.
Market data from Yahoo Finance
To show prices, dividend history, exchange rates and search results, the app requests public market data from Yahoo Finance. Each request contains only a ticker symbol (for example D05.SI), a currency pair, or the words you type in stock search. Like any website, Yahoo receives your IP address and basic request details. See Yahoo's privacy policy.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows a banner ad and offers short video ads to unlock buying, selling and importing beyond the free limit. These ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect and process:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Advertising ID and device identifiers | Ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement and, if you allow it, personalised ads |
| IP address and approximate location derived from it | Ad delivery and fraud prevention |
| App interactions with ads, crash and performance data | Measurement, fraud prevention and diagnostics |
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent message before ads load, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Google settings. Learn more in how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's privacy policy.
Notifications and widget
Dividend reminders and the home-screen widget are worked out on your phone from the data stored there. Turning reminders on asks for notification permission; nothing about them is sent anywhere.
Deleting your data
Use Settings → Clear all holdings to delete every holding and transaction, or uninstall the app to remove all of its data from your phone. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing to request from us.
Not financial advice
Dividend Tracker is a record-keeping tool. Estimated dividends, yields and projections are calculated from past payments and are not financial advice or a guarantee of future income.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes and contact
